Getting to Know...Fred Clarke

Fred Clarke is one of our catering department banquet captains.  His friendly disposition and demeanor draws both staff and clients to him.  Fred is genuine, the real deal.  His no muss, no fuss, approach works for both his and the clients advantage.  It is my pleasure to introduce you to Fred Clarke.

BOX-OFFICE GLENDA:

Hi Fred, it’s great to have you as my next “getting to know” subject.  You have been working at the MTCC for almost two years now.  You are not only a catering banquet captain, but you also work in Kiju’s Restaurant as a server and a supervisor.  Do you have a preference, and if so, please elaborate.

FRED CLARKE:

Yes, catering, it’s different.  I worked in the restaurant/bar environment for 30 years.  I really like the different aspects of catering, the setups, the people etc.

I hear you Fred, when I worked catering, I loved it too!

BOX-OFFICE GLENDA:

You have a very laid back style, nothing seems to get you riled up.  What is your secret?

FRED CLARKE:

It comes with age.  You get to know what to expect and if you get tense when something pops up it throws your day off.  Just deal with it and put it aside.

Great advice Fred, couldn’t agree more.

BOX-OFFICE GLENDA:

Is there anything in life that you have never encountered or experienced but want to?  If so what would it be?

FRED CLARKE:

Yes actually.  I want to go to Australia, it’s my dream, problem is, I hate to fly.  Joel (a co-worker) is from Australia, I ask him questions ALL the time about it.

LOL! We share a dream, and basically the same reason for not having it come true.  I refuse to fly, Australia is one place I would love to travel to, but if I can’t drive to it, hmm  I suppose a nice long cruise would do!

BOX-OFFICE GLENDA:

What unknown talents do you possess?

FRED CLARKE:

OMG!  I don’t know.  Gardening I guess, I do have a green thumb and I like my flowers and plants to look good.

Me too!

BOX-OFFICE GLENDA:

What is the wildest, most outrageous thing you have ever done or want to do?

FRED CLARKE:

Nothing wild that I want to do, I’ve already done it, LOL!  I wanted to be a singer, I thought I had a great voice, and when karaoke came out, I tried it.  I got on stage and after 2 words came out of my mouth I froze! Nothing came out, suffice is to say, that was the end of my singing career, lol

Love it, reminds me of my own beautiful voice, (NOT!)

BOX-OFFICE GLENDA:

That was awesome, thanks for answering my questions Fred, I appreciate that you took the time, I know catering can be very demanding.  You are a fantastic addition to our MTCC family.  Here is hoping you have many more years at the MTCC.

This is Box-Office Glenda signing off until next time.  Please like us on Face Book and follow us on Twitter.
