Membertou Blog & Convention Centre- Getting to know Norma Jean Faulkner

Getting to Know...Norma Jean Faulkner

Norma Jean Faulkner, MTCC’S cutie pie, always bubbly and  upbeat with a smile for everyone, brings over 20 years experience in the hospitality sector with her. Norma is one of the catering department’s banquet captains.  It’s high time we get to know Norma Jean!

BOX-OFFICE GLENDA:

Hi Norma, you are always zooming around the building like a fly on a hot tin roof, a true busy bee you are!  Thankfully, you have stopped long enough to sit and answer some questions.

What do you do to kickback and relax after a long hard physical work week?

NORMA JEAN:

I love spending time with my baby girl.  We usually go shopping, spending money we don’t have!  LOL

We have all travelled that road Norma!

BOX-OFFICE GLENDA:

You are such a tiny little thing, what keeps you in shape besides running around the MTCC?

NORMA JEAN:

The gym, I LOVE the gym, I mainly stick to the weight lifting.

Not this ole girl, the word “gym” is not in my vocabulary!

BOX-OFFICE GLENDA:

Being from good old Newfoundland, you must have a ton of amusing and fun stories, please share one with us.

NORMA JEAN:

Well, Newfoundland is very similar to Cape Breton, both are friendly, love to eat, party etc.  I don’t drink, so I have no interesting stories.

You can still be interesting without drinking Norma!

BOX-OFFICE GLENDA:

Are you musically inclined?  If so, what instrument do you play? If music is not your forte, enlighten us with what is.

NORMA JEAN:

Well, I have played guitar since I was 8.  And I sing a bit, my problem is, I am sort of shy.

I see no signs of shyness, you shine!

BOX-OFFICE GLENDA:

What is the wildest, most outrageous thing you have ever done.

NORMA JEAN:

Skydiving, love it, me and kids did base jumping, had a blast.

That’s where we part ways, my feet like to stay firmly planted on the ground!

BOX-OFFICE GLENDA:

That was fun, thanks for being such a great sport Norma, we lucked out the day you arrived on-scene at the MTCC.  I hope you continue to embrace the Membertou Trade & Convention Centre throughout the coming years.

Thanks Glenda, I really like it here.
