Who is Joshua?
Raised by murder mystery dinner theatre owners, Joshua Counsil is a recovering engineer turned entrepreneur and Canadian keynote speaker. In 2014, he and his buddies quit their engineering careers and founded Good Robot Brewing in Halifax, which has expanded to three award-winning hospitality venues, wholesale craft beer across Canada and B2B beverage manufacturing services.
Josh brings a mix of road rash, tactical info and humour to every stage, offering authentic stories and motivational insights from building a company from scratch. His keynote topics include entrepreneurship, small business growth, creativity, marketing, tourism, hospitality, food & beverage, customer experience and product development.

Keep The Light On: Cape Breton. Presented by the film Little Lorraine

It all began here in Cape Breton with Adam Baldwin’s song Lighthouse in Little Lorraine. Now the film is coming home, and we’re celebrating the community and culture behind it all.
Join the filmmakers – including writer-director Andy Hines, writer and local hero Adam Baldwin, cast, producers, and community leaders – for an afternoon of music, film and Cape Breton camaraderie.
Featuring musical performances by Adam Baldwin, the Men of the Deeps, and Uncle Hector Baldwin.
Together, we’ll keep the light on for Cape Breton- for the stories, the people, and the spirit that made this film possible.
A portion of the proceeds will support the restoration efforts of the iconic Low Point Lighthouse featured in the film.
